Moxy Ox owners celebrate their 10th anniversary

Tontitown based printer Moxy Beef changed hands in the fall of 2012, and the new owners mark the milestone of 10 years.

Moxy Ox began as the in-house printing and advertising division of Chandler Equipment Inc., based in Springdale. In July 2011, Chandler bolstered this creative wing of the business with additional printing equipment and staff, and it began operating as Moxy Ox. .

A year later, the continued growth of CEI and Moxy Ox led Chandler to make a decision.

“I had to choose one of the two companies because Chandler was growing at the same time as Moxy Ox, and we were packed,” he recalls. “The potential growth [for Moxy Ox] was beyond what I could handle, so we decided to sell it and find someone to take it to the next level and do it justice.

Randy Hurban, Steve McBee and Joe Payne have teamed up to buy Moxy Ox from Chandler for an undisclosed price.

Moxy Ox has focused even more on printing since Matt Huber joined the team in 2014. The business is now solely owned by him and Randy and Missy Hurban, with eight full-time staff.

Moxy Ox works with many businesses and artists in Northwest Arkansas and prints a wide range of products nationwide.

“Over the past 10 years, it has been so gratifying to see the number of highly valued businesses in the Northwest Arkansas region that are our customers,” Hurban said. “It’s a very large percentage of our customer base that builds our customers’ trust in our business.”

Moxy Ox occupies approximately 4,600 square feet at its Tontitown headquarters. Huber said the company saw sales growth of 22% from 2020 to 2021. Year-to-date growth is around 60%.

“That’s one of the reasons we keep adding so much new equipment and technology,” he said.

Huber said Moxy Ox fulfilled orders for nearly 700 customers. The number is up to nearly 600 this year.

“We hit our busiest season from September to December,” he said.
