The new generation of Rapida for 3b format (max. mm) has therefore now also arrived in the Brisgau region. The modern five-color press with coater, extended delivery and production speeds of up to 18,000 sheets per hour should handle the main production load of a still relatively new press with a similar level of equipment but significantly improved performance. lower. The move aims to boost competitiveness, particularly in commercial printing.

Automation functions for high performance
The new Rapida 106 will allow Burger Druck to process a much wider range of different substrates. Matching sets of equipment for everything from lightweight papers to heavy board will drive further growth in packaging printing. For printers, the new press will also simplify many processes – from quick ink and coating plate changes to fully automatic quality control. Non-stop feeder and delivery solutions, use of unbent plates, automatic ink supply and combined systems for washing blankets, impression cylinders and rollers are other features that can make daily print production much easier.

A camera system for monitoring sheet movement, an intercom system between infeed and reception and the ErgoTronicApp take communication between operators and the press to a new level. Press and production status information can be accessed remotely using a smartphone. Additionally, the app provides assistance for required press service and maintenance activities with corresponding instructions. LogoTronic with its functions for production planning, press presetting, tracking, reporting and integration with the company’s MIS opens up new perspectives in the implementation of a digital workflow.
All of these and many other automation functions and features will contribute to increased production capacity at Burger Druck in the future. At the same time, by reducing both make-ready times and waste, they open the door to greater sustainability in print production.
