For the editor:

The Houghton All Sports Boosters raise funds for athletic equipment, safety gear and uniforms for Houghton high school and college athletes. On May 18, a draw was held for 67 prizes given away: $4,750 in cash prizes and $4,850 in gift certificates and merchandise. The Boosters are grateful for the outstanding support of parents, family, alumni and friends, who purchased over 1,100 tickets, helping the Boosters earn $8,565 in profits.

We would like to express our gratitude to The Print Shop for printing the tickets. Thanks to Ted Simonsen of Ameriprise Financial for donating the $2,000 cash grand prize, and to Brent Peterson, Steve Zutter and Hunter Rajala of Edward Jones for the $1,000 and $500 cash prizes.
