DuPont introduced the newest series in its pigment ink portfolio, DuPont Artistri Brite P5500, at ISS Long Beach, CA (January 21-23, 2022).

Artistri P5500 ink is specifically designed for DTG (direct-to-garment) printers, decorators and fulfillment houses who want to transition or expand their digital printing operations and are looking to achieve long-lasting, high-quality prints through a reliable and cost-effective printing process.

The new Artistri P5500 ink color set offers the same color as P5000 but with better washfastness with press or oven drying and with faster drying times. Artistri P5590 white ink adds longer shelf life with its customer-loved coverage efficiency and expandability.

The high-volume, water-based ink set is designed to work in printers with low-viscosity piezo printheads and is suitable for all direct-to-garment applications, including DTF (Direct to Film).

“The test results clearly show the advantage of DuPont Artistri P5500 inks in terms of shorter drying times, color gamut and wash fastness,” said Stephen Richardson, GM printing technology. “In particular, the exceptional compatibility of these inks with our new printheads raises our expectations for use in various DTG digital textile printing products that will be introduced in the near future.

“We are delighted to offer a complete solution that delivers industry-leading print performance in all areas that contribute to our customers’ success: brilliant, long-lasting color with less ink and faster drying times for fuser and press while delivering print consistency and reliability to help reduce operating and maintenance costs,” said Eric Beyeler, global marketing manager, DuPont Artistri Digital Inks.

Key features that benefit DTG printers:
• Brilliant colours: range volume > 175,000.
• White coverage: L*>92.
• Longer shelf life due to improved redispersibility.
• Wash fastness of dark shirts (after five washes at 45°C) for press and oven drying > 4 (scale 0-5).
