Apex continues to grow, Fortis announces new acquisitions and more

Apex International, a supplier of anilox rolls, sleeves, glue sets and measuring products, held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of its new manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania.

The new facility is located in Alta Vista Business Park in Fallowfield Township, PA and will replace the existing location in Donora, PA. Guardian Construction Management Services, an established construction management partner in the Southeast, is the selected contractor for the construction initiative. Management teams from Apex International and Guardian Construction were on hand to carry out the groundbreaking in mid-August.

“Apex International has planned major investments in global facilities and capital equipment to meet the expected industry growth,” said Ruud van Cuijk, Managing Director of Apex North America. “It’s exciting to see the initiative come to fruition – this long-awaited expansion will provide our customers with much faster order processing and much more.”

Fortis Solutions Group, a provider of high-impact printed packaging solutions and a fund holding company managed by Harvest Partners, LP, announced the acquisition of Digital Dogma Corp. based in Santa Fe Springs, California, USA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Digital Dogma is a digital manufacturer of self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, and flexible packaging, serving the food and beverage, wine and spirits, nutraceutical, health and beauty, and consumer end markets. industry from its locations in Santa Fe Springs and Paso Robles, California.

The move comes shortly after Fortis announced the acquisition of Identi-Graphics, a manufacturer and printer of pressure-sensitive labels and flexible packaging products for the snack, bakery, confectionery, cosmetics and chemicals in the United States and Canada. The Illinois-based company specializes in printing bar wrappers for the nutritional supplement industry in both heat and cold seal applications.
