sewing club

The Sewing Club is from 4-6 p.m. every Wednesday, run by Barb Brege in the Makerspace.

No sewing experience? No problem! This club is open to all skill levels, from beginners to expert makers ages 9 and up. Bring your sewing machine, supplies (scissors, straight pins, etc.), and a project to work on, and Brege will guide you. For those without a sewing machine, three are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration is required to participate in this recurring program. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult to participate. To register, call Brege at 989-255-8969.

Entertainment club for adults

Those 18 and older are invited to the Anime Club from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16.

Anime Club is a Japanese animation appreciation group for adults. Anime Club was created to provide adults with a place to gather, watch and discuss Japanese animation. No registration necessary; drop-ins are welcome.

Each meeting will include a big-screen anime screening in the Stillion conference room. Display selections will be decided with entrants’ input.

Handyman Tuesdays are back, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. every other Tuesday. The next Tinker Tuesday will take place on September 20 in the library’s Makerspace.

This bi-weekly club brings together people ages 5 and up to explore coding, robotics, virtual reality and more. Projects range from Makey Makey (an electronic invention tool and toy that allows children to connect everyday objects to computer programs), Raspberry Pi (a tiny dual-display desktop computer), Arduino (a form of open source electronic prototyping that allows children to create interactive electronic objects), 3D Printing, Strawbees, littleBits, Snap Circuits, sewing and more. Let your curiosity take over and explore!

Persons under 18 require a waiver signed by a caregiver/guardian to use the Makerspace. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Exemptions are available at the youth office.
